If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use our services. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time, and your continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of any changes.

Slack provides a comprehensive digital workspace designed to connect teams and simplify collaboration. Our platform brings together messaging, file sharing, and integrations with essential tools into one secure environment.

3. User Accounts and Registration

To access our digital workspace platform, you must create an account by providing accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

Account Requirements:

  2. You must provide a valid email address
  3. You must choose a secure password
  4. You must not share your account with others
  5. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or engage in prohibited activities. Account holders are fully responsible for all content posted and actions taken through their accounts.

4. Acceptable Use Policy

Prohibited Activities:

Team administrators have additional responsibilities for managing their workspace data and ensuring compliance with their organization's data policies.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

The Slack platform, including all software, designs, text, graphics, and other materials, is protected by intellectual property laws. We retain all rights to our proprietary technology and content.

Your Content Rights:

You retain ownership of all content you create and share through our digital workspace. By using our platform, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and transmit your content as necessary to provide our services.

Respect for Others' Rights:

Users must respect the intellectual property rights of others. Do not share copyrighted materials without proper authorization. We respond to valid copyright infringement notices in accordance with applicable law.

7. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to maintain high availability of our digital workspace platform, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance, updates, and unforeseen technical issues may temporarily affect service availability.

Service Level Commitments:

  • We target 99.9% uptime for our core messaging services
  • Planned maintenance is scheduled during low-usage periods
  • We provide advance notice of significant service changes
  • Emergency maintenance may occur without prior notice

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our service at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of material changes that affect your use of the platform.

8. Payment Terms and Billing

Our digital workspace platform offers both complimentary and paid subscription plans. Paid plans provide additional features and capabilities for teams requiring advanced collaboration tools.

Billing Policies:

  • Subscription fees are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
  • All fees are non-refundable except as required by law
  • Price changes will be communicated with 30 days advance notice
  • Failed payments may result in service suspension
  • Taxes are calculated based on your billing address

Team administrators can manage billing settings and view usage reports through their workspace administration panel.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Slack shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our digital workspace platform.

Important Limitation:Our total liability for any claims related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

This limitation applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based, including contract, tort, negligence, or strict liability. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so these may not apply to you.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may stop using our services and delete your account through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these terms.

Effects of Termination:

  • Your access to the platform will be immediately suspended
  • Your data may be retained for a limited period as described in our Privacy Policy
  • Paid subscriptions will continue until the end of the current billing period
  • Certain provisions of these terms will survive termination

We recommend exporting important data before terminating your account, as we cannot guarantee data recovery after account deletion.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services will be resolved through binding arbitration.

Dispute Resolution Process:

  2. Formal mediation if informal resolution is unsuccessful
  3. Binding arbitration as the final resolution method

You waive any right to participate in class action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration against us.
